About the community
Yipala is within the Damongo Town Council of the West Gonja district in the northern region. It is about 4 kilometres from Damongo along the Damongo-Sawla major road.
It has a population of about 958 people and with 121 households. About 53 % of the population is female and 47% male. Dagabas are the major/dominant ethnic group with Sissala, Mamprusi and Fulanis as minority groups.
Farming is the major economic activity of the people. The community has a public primary school and a junior High School. The sources of drinking water are a dam which is about 2 kilometres and rainfall.
