Exactly who is The Water Guy?

October 10, 2011

The other day, we were on our way to a meeting and happened to see an advert titled ‘You Don’t Know Me’ by Addidas. Then it suddenly struck us. People don’t really know who we are! So we thought it was about time that we started sharing ourselves with you.

Today, it gives us great pleasure to introduce to some and proudly present to others, the brain box behind the water bottle with benefits, Edwin Broni-Mensah - A.K.A The Water Guy! To kick things off, here is a little bit more about him:

Name: Edwin Broni-Mensah

Age: 26

Place of Birth: Edmonton, North London

Right-handed or left-handed: Right-handed

Arsenal or Man U: Come on!!! One of the main reasons why I went to Manchester University was so that I could watch the best team in the world play football – Manchester United all day long

Your most embarrassing moment: There are a few, but a noticable one is when I was trying to be cool by attempting to jump off a moving bus (aged 13). This was a disaster move, which ended up with me doing several rolly-pollies on the pavement, while everyone on the bus looked and laughed – not classy at all…

Your proudest moment: Seeing the children’s happy faces when we completed the installation of the water borehole project in Namibia in November. Having seen first-hand the direct impact the work we do at GiveMeTap has on people, I wake up each morning with so much motivation to improve our bottlesand expand our water refill network so that GiveMeTap can keep on helping people all over the world get access to clean drinking water.

Restaurants or home cooked meals: I love cooking. So definitely ‘Home cooked’ meals. I’ve been cooking with my Grandma since I was 6 - my first dish was a Tuna stew with baked beans thrown in (hmmmm, yummmy). For me, cooking is a time when I can calm my mind.

Indian or Chinese: Tough one. But my favourite cuisine is Thai.

Marmite – Heart or Hate: Yuck!

Can you do a one-handed cartwheel? Sadly, no. But I am trying my hand at Tap dancing!

Favourite quote: I have loads – but not one favourite, as it depends on what is trying to be said. I think I’ll share some of them in the future.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things (excluding water & GiveMeTap bottles) would you take with you? My Maths riddle book, a pen and a pad.
